What Formats can be used inside the Configuration Tool?

1. TEXT

  • Non Formatted
  • URL
  • Account #
  • Phone #
  • International Phone #

With Non-Formatted you will see exactly what you type.  It is not formatted in any particular way.

For this example, we will look at a Location Field.

1. Click the Format icon.

2. Under the Text category, select Non Formatted.

3. Click the Run icon to apply the selected changes.

2. NUMBER

  • Non Formatted
  • Formatted
  • Currency
  • Percent
  • Percent (No Rounding)
  • Scientific Notation
Number example: Currency

Click the Format icon.

Under the Number category, select Currency.

As a way to visually explain the changes, I will add a second Amount Field (to show the before/after changes).

Under Add a Field, the Amount option was selected.

I will type "(default)" next to the second Amount field.

Click the Run icon to apply the selected changes.

In the Date category, select the Date/Time Format.

To further demonstrate, we will Add a Field.

We will select the Date option.

I will type "(default)" next to the second Date Field.

The Date Format is Year-Month-Day (YYYY-MM-DD). 

The Time Format is Hours-Minutes-Seconds (HH-MM-SS).

We already have some data in our image, to illustrate the Area Spline Format.

Notice the Time Per Day of Week columns.  There are seven numbers with COMMAS between them, as the data in the Time per day of week columns.  Notice how the Area Spline Format visually represents the numbers in the column.
